Santa Paula Society of the Arts
In 1999, Clarissa and Vanessa lived in beautiful Santa Paula, CA and we were members of the Santa Paula Society of the Arts. After we had inquired at all the county library's for Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, California, for information on Mother and Daughter Collaborating Art Teams, we couldn't find not one and as we assumed there would be many!
It was suggested by, the Santa Paula Society of the Arts to contact, The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), Washington D.C. and inquire there for all the mother and daughter artists teams around the World. The NMWA, sent a letter stating (see below) of their research. In another letter the NMWA sent, they asked to archive us into the NMWA and to do so we needed to have an Exhibition of our Artwork.
The Santa Paula Society of the Arts was elated to give us an Exhibition and truly honored that we Clarissa and Vanessa Parry to be the Worlds Only Collaborating Mother and Daughter Artist Team archived into the NMWA 2000.
To date, we added a 3rd generation of women artists to our collaboration team and that is my granddaughter Kierah, sho started painting with us at the same age as her mommy Vanessa at age 3.
